Shelly McLaughlin has over 30 years of education, business, and leadership experience, which has enabled her to resolve conflicts effectively by listening actively, understanding complex concepts, guiding negotiations, and encouraging positive outcomes. She worked in the investment industry before discovering the field of conflict resolution, and has built a diverse alternative dispute resolution practice working with private and public sector organizations.
Shelly is currently on the rosters for BC Human Rights Tribunal Mediations, BC Family and Civil Mediation, WorksafeBC PAC Mediation, BC Insurance Arbitration, BC property assessment review, Sport Dispute Resolution centre of Canada Arbitration and Mediation, Better Business Bureau (BBB), and is a member of the Employment and Assistance Tribunal and Property Assessment Review Panel.
Shelly completed her HBA at Western University while interning with the International Foundation of Employee Benefits, and shortly thereafter completed the rigorous Chartered Financial Analyst program and certification. Over the past two decades, she has earned her Certification in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute, completed training in Restorative Justice Facilitation with the RCMP, Arbitration through Royal Roads University, Mediation-Arbitration with the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, and Workplace investigation certification through Rubin Thomlinson LLP. She is a Chartered Mediator and Chartered Arbitrator through ADRIC.
Shelly specializes in investigations of allegations of conduct issues including harassment, education and training, mediation, arbitration, and the Med-Arb process, analyzing and finding solutions for complex issues, and separation and divorce coaching, mediating, and creation of separation agreements.
